Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont and Delaware generate the most revenue for recycling centers based on population size, according to the free business intelligence website SizeUp.

According to the study, the average per capita revenue for Connecticut recycling centers is $1,500 to $1,600.

On a more local level, the Bridgeport-Norwalk-Stamford metro area ranked ninth in the nation in metro-area average revenue at recycling centers. The region's revenue totaled $2,000 to $2,250 per capita.

On a city level, Stamford ranked 14th in the nation in revenue generated from recycling center. Stamford averaged $2,250 to $2,500 in recycling revenue per capita.
