REDDING, Conn. -- Fans of the Redding Roadhouse, which closed in May , will be happy to hear that the landmark restaurant is looking to reopen later this year, according to an announcement on its Facebook page.
“No ETA just yet ... all new ownership and management. Hopefully this fall,’’ the Redding Roadhouse posted on the Facebook page last week.
The building and grounds have been under extensive repair. On the Facebook page, the business posted that its septic system was being repaired.
"Right now we are focused on the repair project. This building hasn't had a day off in 30 years!" the page administrator posted in one comment.
People have been commenting and asking questions on the restaurant's Facebook page, which had gone silent after the closing in May.
Activity has picked up recently, however, and announcements and updates have been more frequent in the past few weeks.
Sandra Wright, one of the landlords, told the Redding Pilot in a story last week that the restaurant has attracted interest, but a tenant has not yet emerged.
The restaurant closed in May after 30 years in business. The restaurant is especially popular with Redding residents, but also draws diners from many nearby communities, including Wilton, Weston, Easton, Danbury, Norwalk, Bethel and Ridgefield.
