NORWALK, Conn. – Antenna International of Norwalk announced it has hired David A. Falter as its new president and chief executive officer.
The company services 63 million people worldwide through its "immersive audio tours," used in cities such as London and Manchester, England, to highlight local tourist attractions. Familiar names, including Steve Martin, Meryl Streep and Andy Garcia, have recorded for Antenna in the past.
In the past, Falter has served as the president of Galileo Americas, as a private equity executive, and most recently as the managing partner of Acorn Growth Partners, a business consultancy.
“I am amazed at the creative genius within Antenna International, and by the innovation occurring within its digital think-tank, Antenna Lab,” Falter said in a statement. “This organization has not only brought new life to some of the world’s most recognizable works of art and enriched the experience of culture globally – but it has also made these important assets much more accessible to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy the experience.”
In August, the company launched “Talking Statues” across London and Manchester, a project that brings 35 of the English cities’ most historic and iconic statues to life. Through mobile technology, users can swipe their smart-phone over a statue’s signage, triggering a “call back” from the likes of Isaac Newton, Queen Victoria or Sherlock Holmes.
Falter holds a bachelor's degree from Miami of Ohio, a master's degree from Virginia, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern.
