NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling and Economic Development Director Elizabeth Stocker were joined by Edward Musante, president of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, in welcoming RTi Research's 50 employees to Norwalk.

RTi Research CEO David Rothstein and his employees moved  March 16 to Norwalk from Stamford. RTi was started by Rothstein’s father in Stamford in 1979. It grew from a small home-based business to a global marketing and research firm.

Rilling spoke to the employees March 19 and extended a warm welcome. RTi’s employees were told about many of the assets in Norwalk, including nearby parks and beaches, restaurants, the aquarium, shopping, entertainment and more.

He said employees should find that getting to and from their new office in Norwalk will be easy and convenient.

RTi Research moved from 1351 Washington Blvd. in downtown Stamford to 14,000 square feet of office space in the Merrittview building at 383 Main Ave. in Norwalk.

Rothstein cited the difficulty of commuting to Stamford and the high cost of living there as among the reasons for the move.

Choyce Peterson, a Stamford-based commercial real estate broker, negotiated the deal. The building is owned by Empire State Realty Trust, which is operated by Anthony Malkin, son of Greenwich real estate mogul Peter Malkin.

Merrittview is one of a number of buildings on Norwalk's Route 7 corridor that offers amenities such as a cafeteria, indoor parking and a gym.

Merrittview is an eight-story, 257,000-square-foot building whose tenants include Cisco Systems, Nestle Holdings and SunGard Recovery Services.
