Mayor Harry Rilling and the Norwalk Parking Authority will support Norwalk's small businesses by offering free on-street parking (excluding parking lots/garages) to encourage customers to shop and visit local venues in Norwalk's downtowns.

"Parking is the first and last experience people have. We want to help people to find parking easily, get out of their cars, walk around, shop, dine and enjoy Norwalk's amazing downtowns. We are happy to partner with Mayor Rilling on Small Business Saturday," said Julius Hayward, chairman of the Norwalk Parking Authority.

Rilling suggests that "local businesses and shop owners seize this opportunity to highlight any specials for your customers and to help attract new customers who will discover them and shop while enjoying the free-on street parking and our downtowns. "

The Parking Authority reminds all that the two-hour limit will remain in effect to encourage turnover of the parking spaces.
