NORWALK, Conn -- Katia Garçon-Mistretta believes all women should "adorn thyselves." And, luckily, she's there to help.
Her Norwalk store, KATIA’s Boutiques (KB) is a renowned fashion retail experience, personal styling and fine jewelry designing boutique rolled into one. Garcon-Mistretta prides herself on the shop's whimsical and sophisticated flair and eclectic mix of carefully-curated clothing and bright baubles.
"We sell standout merchandise with white glove service in a beautiful intimate space," she said. "We offer only the latest casual and upscale styles for women of all curves zero to 24."
That means traveling the world to find "exceptionally awesome products" offered at both the brick and mortar locale as well as on the store's emerging online presence.
Expect hand-selected picks featuring local designers to international contemporary brands.
"We celebrate every size, curve, and skin tone," stressed Garcon-Mistretta who said she's been passionate about jewelry and fashion since childhood. That's why she attended Gemological Institute of America where she earned GG (Graduate Gemologist) and JDT (Jewelry Design Technology) degrees.
Before establishing KATIA Boutiques, she founded Henri Garcon, a Manhattan-based company dedicated to designing and creating luxurious commissioned bespoke fine jewelry for private clients with the guarantee that each piece was one of a kind never to be created again. She continues to provide this service with her Norwalk store.
As for what's big this holiday season, she said the shop has transitioned out of the 70’s inspired looks to modern cowgirl -- think more 80s flares with shoulder pads.
The fall/winter material of choice has been velvet, suede, leather and lace with the color of the season going to burgundy.
Animal prints, rich colored embroidered florals, metallic, colorful furs and transparent everything (skirts, dresses, pants and top) are also big as are pussy-bow tops and dresses.
"The most surprising trend for every age group has been knee-length dresses and skirts," she said with chokers being the biggest jewelry trend.
