Christie's Quilting Boutique In Norwalk Honors Military Veterans

NORWALK, Conn. -- Christie's Quilting Boutique in Norwalk presented Quilts of Valor to 14 military veterans during a ceremony on Saturday.

The veterans who received quilts were Paul Ceglia of Norwalk, Orlando Vazquez, Mike Worosz, Marshal Wilson, Jerry Cook, Herbert Vernal, Felix Guiffra III, Josephine Velazquez-Ruequoi, Sharad Samy, Thomas Boone, Robert Bucci, Charles Scribner, David Sanborn and John Miller.

Quilts are made by volunteers at Christie’s, which opened in 2013, at 176 Main St. in Norwalk. Christie Ruiz distributed Quilts of Valor for the first time last year. Jane Dougherty, the Connecticut representative for Quilts of Valor, center, helped Ruiz present the quilts.

Quilts of Valor is a national program which provides the treasures for military veterans. Christie's is one of only three stories in Connecticut to make the quilts for veterans, and the only one in Fairfield County.
