The Rhode Island-based company, founded by jewelry designer Carolyn Rafaelian, is well-known for its expandable bangle bracelets, but also sells necklaces, earrings and rings. All pieces are made in the U.S. using eco-friendly, recycled materials and are “infused” with positive energy, according to the company website.
The Westport location is the first Alex and Ani to open in Fairfield County, but the third in Connecticut. It joins shops in New Haven and at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket. Nationwide, the Westport shop is one of more than 30 locations.
“We are always looking to grow and expand the company,” Alex and Ani spokesperson Alex Zaso said. “We love the downtown feel of Westport.”
Alex and Ani opens every day at 10 a.m and closes at 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 7 p.m. on Sundays. The store officially opened on July 9.
Since closing in May, The Avenue Gallery has reopened in Norwalk at 173 Main St.
