NORWALK, Conn. – A branch of 24-hour gym Anytime Fitness will hold its Grand Opening in Norwalk on Saturday.
Norwalk’s Anytime Fitness is a franchise of an international chain of 24-hour fitness centers. Founded in 2002, the chain now has more than 2,000 locations in more than a dozen countries.
Though not always staffed, the fitness center is always available to customers. Each gym member is able to access the center any time via a personalized swipe key. Security cameras and other features protect the gym and its surrounding parking lot even during the overnight hours, the owners say.
“I think our members want three things: They want a very comfortable club atmosphere, which we deliver,” Anytime Fitness Co- Founder Chuck Runyan says on the corporation’s website. “They want convenience, and they want an affordable fitness option.”
Inside the gym offers a range of cardio and strength- training equipment and private showers and changing rooms. Clients can also sign up for many pre-scheduled classes, such as yoga and Zumba, as well as private classes and personal training sessions.
Membership also gives customers 24-hour access to any other Anytime Fitness location, including those in Wilton and Fairfield.
“With this benefit, you can visit thousands of our fitness centers for the price of a standard monthly gym membership,” the gym’s website says. “With Anywhere Club Access, you can exercise whenever—and wherever — it suits you best.”
Anytime Fitness is offering free seven-day passes to people who are interested in trying out the gym. The gym is also offering discounts through its grand opening party Saturday. The grand opening, which runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, will also have free massages and classes for interested customers.
Anytime Fitness is at 295 Westport Ave., Norwalk. For more information, call 203-957-3666 or visit the gym’s website.
